The Acadia Beach House is a charming 3 bedroom very private getaway located on the storm-wash beach at Schieffelin Point in Gouldsboro, Maine.

This house takes in ocean views of Acadia National Park and its mountains that jet up from the sea as well as the Bar Harbor archipelago islands in beautiful Frenchman’s Bay.

The picturesque beach is typical of the cobble beaches of the Maine coast, with its soothing smooth round and oval water stones which are therapeutic and warm to the touch as well as relaxing to walk on with bare feet.

Vacationing here is a dream location that first timers or repeat travelers alike will adore. This house is perfect for couples, honeymooners, two couples traveling together or a small family desiring a quiet retreat.

This house is only a 40 minute drive from Acadia National Park on Mount Desert Island or 15 minutes from Acadia’s scenic Schoodic Peninsula in Winter Harbor, with its crashing surf shores and raw beauty.

The house accommodates 5 guests in its main house and 2 in the adjoining guest cottage. The main house has two queen size beds in its east and west bedrooms and a twin bed in its smaller back bedroom.

The house also has two full baths, an oceanside deck which extends the full length of the front of the house, a middle sunset sitting room and living room with center fireplace. The house also has a quaint dining area and well equipped kitchen with prep island and dishwasher.

The house also includes all linens, washer, dryer, firewood, cookware, place settings, utensils, lobster pot, charcoal grill, phone, satellite TV with DVD player and high speed Internet.

The guest cottage features a bedroom with two twin beds and full bath. All linens are included with the guest cottage.

This house is centrally located to Maine’s best coastal mountain hiking trails. Of course we’re talking about the mountains of Acadia National Park on Mount Desert Island located only 40 minutes away but also the little known Maine Bureau of Public Lands area located in Sullivan and Township 10, where hikers can enjoy uncrowded jaunts up the picturesque trails to the summits of Schoodic, Black, Caribou, Catherine’s and Tunk Mountains. These hikes are only 10 to 30 minutes away from the house and our guests will marvel at the summit’s 360 degree views of both wonderful freshwater lakes and gorgeous oceanscapes.

Freshwater fishing abounds in this area with its myriad of crystal clear granite based lakes and cool clear water streams. Whether guests are experienced or amateur anglers, this region has easily found fishing for eager biters of smallmouth bass, largemouth bass, brook trout, landlocked salmon, lake trout, chain pickerel and white perch.

The house is 1 hour from Bangor and Bangor International Airport, 40 minutes from Bar Harbor, 4 hours from Portland, 5½ hours from Boston, 9½ hours from New York City, 2 hours from Eastport, 1½ hours from Campobello Island, and 2 hours from St. Stephen, New Brunswick Canada.

This house rents for the beginning of May to the end of October.

The house requires a 50% reservation deposit with the remainder payment due 30 days prior to arrival along with a $500.00 damage deposit.

Dogs are allowed but smoking is not permitted at the house or guest cottage.

June 30 - August 25: $1,525
August 25 - October 6: $850

The guest cottage is available for an additional $200 a week.
