The elegant Atlantis House is located in South Addison on one of the most picturesque and hidden deep water hamlets on the Downeast Maine coast.
This house is perched overlooking the private, quiet cove of Ports Harbor. It accommodates 10 guests and boasts a sprawling floor plan of three levels which includes 5 bedrooms and 3½ baths.
This luxurious oceanside home is perfect for family reunions, multiple family get-togethers, couples retreats and small weddings.
It has a waterside deck extending the full length of the house and a double view center living room wood burning fireplace.
Guests here will love this quiet ocean setting, its gorgeous westerly sea views with the mountains of Mount Desert Island in the background and breath taking sunsets.
The Atlantis House offers sleeping accommodations on all three floors with ocean views from every bedroom. The private master bedroom suite is located on the third floor and boasts a waterside balcony, a king sized bed and a private attached master bath with large shower and oval shaped whirlpool tub.
The four guest bedrooms are located on the first and second floors and feature 3 queen and set of bunk beds along with two full baths.
The house also features a large combination dining/living room area with double view center fireplace with sliding door access to its seaside deck. The kitchen features a breakfast and lunch dining area, pantry for food and cooking equipment storage, all cookware, utensils, place settings, large gas stove, microwave and dishwasher.
The house also includes waterside rec room with ping pong table, high speed Internet access, satellite TV, DVD player and music system. Also included are all linens, phone, gas grill, outdoor deck furniture and lobster pot.
The Atlantis House is located in relatively short distances from coastal hikes at Great Wass Island, McClellan Park in Milbridge, Petit Manan in Steuben and interior hikes at Catherine’s, Tunk, Caribou, Black and Schoodic mountains in Township 10.
There are fine dining restaurants in Machias and Milbridge with terrific seafood and local color. Good fishing abounds in the lakes around the Machias and Cherryfield areas or you can fish for trout in one of the nearby streams.
Antique shops dot the many coastal villages and Machias has a number of interesting shops for guests to explore. A little further away in Cutler, Hearts of Maine recommends the Atlantic Puffin tour aboard the Barbara Frost with Captain Andy Patterson. We also highly recommend the whale watching and schooner cruises with Captain Butch Harris on the Sylvina Beal out of Eastport.
Rental fees (per week):
January 1 - June 15: $850
June 15 - June 29: $1,000
June 29 - July 13: $1,400
July 13 - August 24: $1,600
August 24 - December 31: $1,000
The Atlantis House rents from Saturday to Saturday.
To reserve this house a 50% reservation deposit is required within 14 days of making your reservation.
Requires a $500 damage deposit due with remainder payment 30 days prior to renters arrival.
Smoking and pets are not permitted.
The house is 1½ hours from Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park and 1¼ hours from Ellsworth and 2 hours from Bangor International Airport.
The house is also 1½ hours from Lubec and Campobello Island and 1½ from New Brunswick Canada.
The house is also 5 hours from Portland, 6 hours from Boston and 10 hours from New York City.
