This newly renovated 3 bedroom, 2 full bath luxurious house offers the turnkey comforts of home in a remote and beautiful setting. Balsam Shores accommodates 6 guests and offers a sandy area for swimming, dock for boat tie-up, a canoe and paddle boat.

The lake boasts great fishing for smallmouth bass and white perch and 800 acres to explore by kayak or canoe.

This house features a center fieldstone wood burning fireplace, private second floor master bedroom with king size bed and sitting area, plus attached master bathroom with large whirlpool tub and romantic water view balcony.

The house also boasts a spacious first floor great room with large dining area, granite countered and fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, living area with center fireplace, walk-out waterside porch, two down-stairs guest rooms with one queen and two twin beds and full bath.

The house also includes washer, dryer, microwave, gas grill, firewood, satellite TV, DVD player, DSL high speed Internet, linens, phone, place settings, cookware and utensils.

Activities in the area include coastal hiking trails along the Bold Coast in Cutler, Lubec, Great Wass, Milbridge and Steuben. Visitors can hike the coastal hiking trail at Roque Bluffs State Park, and enjoy its quarter mile oceanfront sandy beach and freshwater wading pond, which is stocked with brook trout and brown trout annually. Area guests can successfully fish this pond right from shore or fish the many nearby cold brook trout streams that Downeast Maine has to offer.

Balsam Shores Lake House - shoreline of Bog Lake Also close by are two golf courses in Roque Bluffs and Jonesboro, guided sea kayaking trips with a company in Machias, Atlantic puffin tours and spectacular coastal hiking trails out of Cutler harbor, antiquing in local fishing villages, viewing ancient Indian petrogyphs along the shoreline in nearby Machiasport, deep sea fishing tours from Eastport and ocean schooner sight seeing and whale watching trips on the Sylvina Beal out of Eastport harbor and much more.

The house is 2 hours east of Bangor and the Bangor International Airport. Five hours northeast of Portland, 6 hours from Boston and 11 hours from New York City. The house is also 1½ hours from Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. The house is 1 hour from Eastport and 45 minutes from Lubec and Campobello Island.

A 50% reservation deposit is required to reserve the cottage.

Balance due 30 days prior to arrival.

A $500.00 refundable security deposit is required along with remainder payment for damage/excessive cleaning costs.

Check-in time 3:00 PM and check-out time 10:00 AM the following Saturday.

The house does not permit pets or smoking.

Rental Fees (per week):
January 1 - June 23: $800
June 23 - July 7: $1,200
July 7 - September 1: $1,600
September 1 - December 31: $800
