Located on Georges Pond in Franklin, the Beachside Cottage is a vacationer's dream. It has its own large, private beach and sits only 30 feet from the water's edge.
The cottage has one full bath and a great room with dining area, kitchen and living room. The cottage comes complete with cable TV, VCR, DVD and CD/Radio/Tape player. It also comes with telephone, linens and towels. Pets are welcome but smoking is not permitted.
There are also many wonderful hiking opportunities located on the public reserve lands within 20 minutes of the cottage. These hikes include trails to the summits of Schoodic, Black, Caribou and Catherine's Mountains.
$400 refundable security deposit for damage/excessive cleaning costs.
The cottage is located 20 minutes from Ellsworth, 25 minutes from Winter Harbor and Schoodic Peninsula and 1 hour from Bangor International Airport.
The cottage is also 3½ hours from the Portland Jetport, 5½ hours from Boston and 9½ hours from New York City.

Guests here love having the quiet sheltered waters just outside their door where loons swim by and children play. The pond bottom here is sandy and gradual, making for great swimming and wading. Fishing in the pond is very good for smallmouth bass, white perch, chain pickerel and brown trout. Moms and Dads can sit on the sun porch or in the great room, and watch the children swim, wade or make sand castles.
The cottage has four bedrooms, two downstairs and two upstairs. The master bedroom has a queen size bed and the guest room has a double bed. The two upstairs bedrooms have 5 twin beds between them and are perfect for the children.
Not many other locations can boast so many lakefront comforts and activities. Included is a dock, swimming float, 2 kayaks, canoe and beach fire pit with fire wood. The cottage is also only a 45 minute drive from Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. Groceries can picked up within 10 minutes of the cottage at the Franklin Trading Post.
