Reminiscent of a log cabin lodge, this house features a grand and comfortable great room with cathedral ceiling, dining area, entertainment center with satellite TV, DVD and authentic fieldstone fireplace.
The house has 3 bedrooms with 3 queen beds and a spacious sleeping loft with four twin beds. The house boasts a total of two dining areas and two full baths.
At the this house renters will enjoy long private walks on the extensive beach and shoreline. Beyond the beach renters can harvest their own clams and have an authentic coastal Maine meal. Put together with lobsters and corn on the cob, there's nothing better!
Access for sea kayakers in front of the house is perfect. From the beach it is a short paddle to Hog Island to view Indian rock carvings (petroglyphs) which were pecked into ledges hundreds of years ago by the Algonquin Indians. These unique petroglyphs are located on the southwest side of the island and are engraved into the latent shale stone.
The Bear Beach House is located only 10 minutes away from beautiful Cutler harbor where visitors can buy fresh lobsters or board the Barbara Frost to tour the "Bold Coast" coastline or for a trip out to Machias Seal Island where the Atlantic Puffins gather.
The house is available all year around for Saturday to Saturday rentals.
Rental Fees (per week):
A 50% reservation deposit is due within 14 days of making your reservation. The balance of rental fees are due 30 days prior to arrival. A $400.00 refundable security/damage deposit is also due on all rentals.
The house is 2 hours from Bangor International Airport and 5 hours from the Portland Jetport.
The house is 7 hours from Boston and 11 hours from New York City.
