The Headland Cottage is an exciting two bedroom retreat perched on the southern bluffs of Eastport, Maine. It features spectacular panoramic views of Campobello Island, Lubec and Eastport harbor. Standing on the deck of this cottage and enjoying the elevated perspective imparts to visitors a sense of being on the edge of one of the wonders of the world.

From the deck you can see Franklin Roosevelt's historic summer home on Campobello, as well as views of a myriad of boats plying the ocean waters. On the shoreline below the cottage there is 1500 feet of private beach to walk on, and guests are also welcome to explore eight acres of headlands to pick blueberries and other pursuits.

The master bedroom has a wonderful ocean view and comes with a queen size bed, while the guest room has a double bed and available rollaway.

The kitchen and dinning areas have terrific water views along with beautifully hand-carved seascape cupboards and window trims. The cozy living room features a lovely glass front soapstone fireplace for evenings when the sea breeze comes off the water.

The entire cottage interior has a nautical decor which blends well with the ocean backdrop as well as the village's rich maritime history. The waterside deck comes with gas grill and comfortable outdoor furniture. The cottage also features high speed Internet access.

This cottage is situated in one of the most exciting and rejuvenated vacation destinations along the Maine coast. Eastport's delightful and close knit friendly eclectic mix of people are a joy to experience. The cottage is also close to several state parks including Cobscook Bay, Shackford Head, Gleason's Point, as well as Moosehorn National Wildlife Refuge, where wonderful opportunities for hiking, biking, and bird watching await.

The Canadian province of New Brunswick is only 25 miles away by car, where you can visit the historic Loyalist town of St. Andrews by the sea, or perhaps check out the Chocolate Museum in St. Stephen. There is also ferry service from Eastport, which serves Deer Island, New Brunswick, from whence other short ferry hops can take you to either mainland New Brunswick or to Campobello Island, where visitors tour the Franklin D. Roosevelt International Park. The two masted schooner, Sylvina Beal, leaves her berth at the Eastport waterfront and takes guests on scenic sunset cruises and whales watching excursions around the bays.

Rental Terms: 50% reservation deposit required.
Balance due 30 days prior to arrival.
$500 refundable security deposit is due along with remainder payment for damage/excessive cleaning costs.
Check-in 3:00 PM Saturday, check-out 10:00 AM the following Saturday.
Pets are welcome but smoking is not permitted.
