This cozy 3 bedroom cottage overlooks Pleasant Bay as well as a little known protected harbor which is a haven for a handful of boats - it features images which guests would expect to see in books or movies of the traditional Maine coast.
This cottage’s views are truly wonderful and it has all the privacy and tranquility that people dream of when looking to vacation on the northeast coast. This cottage has marvelous features including shorefront paths, cobble beach, benched vista and an ocean pier.
![]() On a clear day guests can look across the water and view Acadia National Park’s Cadillac Mountain. This cottage is perfect for 1 or 2 couples or a small family wanting to vacation in a quiet setting.
The interior of the cottage is open and bright, with hardwood floors throughout. Its three bedrooms are charming with each featuring water views and a cozy, “snug as bug” feel.
The first floor features a master bedroom with a queen size bed and attached bath. Next to the master bedroom is a quiet sitting room with fireplace - perfect for reading, relaxing or having quiet fireside chats with a friend.
![]() The great room extends the full length of the house and its windows take in glorious ocean views and the sun’s warmth, making this area the place to be. The great room includes a spacious living room with comfortable furniture, glass front fireplace and access to the waterside deck.
The great room extends and transitions into the six seat dining area and never loses its wonderful ocean views. Convenient to the dining area is a well laid out kitchen nook with counter space, microwave, electric stove, refrigerator, dishwasher and cookware.
This area of Maine is lightly developed and the pace of life is slow, perfect for vacationers who want to get away from it all. This cottage is only a mile away from the little known Cape Split sandy beach owned by the Great Auk Land Trust.
Other area highlights include hiking, sea kayaking tours, bay tours, biking, antiquing, beach combing, golfing, whale watching, lighthouse exploring, fishing, fine dining and Atlantic Puffin tours. And, of course, day trips to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park are only a short drive away.
Rental Fees (per week): $400 refundable security deposit for damage/excessive cleaning costs.
Cottage rents from Saturday to Saturday. Dogs are welcome, cats and smoking are not permitted. The cottage is 1½ hours from Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park and 1¼ hours from Ellsworth and 2 hours from Bangor International Airport. The cottage is also 1½ hours from Lubec and Campobello Island and 1½ hours from New Brunswick, Canada. The cottage is also 5 hours from Portland, 6 hours from Boston and 10 hours from New York City.
