The Salt-Air House is a very private three bedroom, 2½ bath oceanfront getaway perched on the scenic shores of Kennebec Bay in Roque Bluffs, Maine.

This house is a must rent, with unparalled comfort and ocean access. Guests here will enjoy the bright and open cathedral design of the center great room, ease of access to the oceanside deck and the warm and comfortable large sunroom. The house has wonderful ocean views and access to miles coastline for exploring.

Vacationers renting this house will love the private walking trail along the seashore leading to Hope Island allowing visitors to hike across to this wonderful intertidal island for a lifetime of beachcombing memories.

The Salt-Air House features three levels; the mid-level boasts its living room, dining room, kitchen, oceanside deck and sunroom area. The top level is its master bedroom suite with queen size bed and master bath. The bottom level provides two spacious guest rooms with queen size beds, full bath and walk-out seashore access.

The house also features high speed Internet, washer, dryer, dishwasher, outdoor gas grill, linens, phone, surround sound music, all cookware, place settings and utensils.

During the summer, embark on a fishing trip by boat right from the house for Atlantic mackerel in the bay. If you’re a kayaker, the shoreline in front of the house is a perfect location to start off your ocean excursion to explore the bay and surrounding islands. Wonderful area guided sea kayak tours are available or the local kayaking company will deliver rental kayaks right to your door.

Vacationers can hop aboard the Barbara Frost out of Cutler to view the Atlantic Puffins on Machias Seal Island or take simple scenic bay tours to enjoy the diverse wildlife and seascapes. Guests can also travel to Eastport for schooner cruises and spectacular whale watching trips as well as deep sea fishing.

This area also abounds with terrific coastal hiking trails and historic sites. Hikers can pursue the beautiful trails at the Roque Bluffs State Park, the Nature Conservancy trails on Great Wass Island or the fantastic trails at Western Head and the Bold Coast in Cutler. Vacationers will also be fascinated by the Indian petrogyphs at Holmes Point on Hog Island in Machias Bay as well as viewing the site of the first naval battle of the Revolutionary War off of Fort O’Brien in Machiasport.

The area also has wonderful inland fishing opportunities for smallmouth bass and brook trout in the Machias River. If you’re interested in experiencing the nature side of coastal Maine, this area is it!

This house is 10 minutes from Roque Bluffs State Park, 1 hour from Eastport, Lubec and Campobello Island. It’s also 1 hour from Acadia’s Schoodic Peninsula and 1½ hours from Bar Harbor and the main portion of Acadia National Park. The house is 2 hours from Bangor International Airport, 5 hours from the Portland Jet Port, 6½ hours from Boston and 11 hours from New York City.

This house rents from Saturday to Saturday.

A 50% reservation deposit is required within 14 days of making a reservation.

The remainder payment along with a separate refundable $500.00 damage deposit is required 30 days prior to arrival.

Pets and smoking are not permitted.

The house is available all year around.
