Schooner Point House - great room

Schooner Point House - living room with fireplace The interior of the Schooner Point House is wonderfully designed, as each room flows effortlessly into the next. The centerpiece of this house is its great-room, which features living and dining areas that open conveniently into a spacious kitchen and also on to a large waterside deck. A fireplace adorns the living room and is the focal point of this comfortable family gathering place.

Guests will also enjoy the ability to step from the great-room outside to tend their surf and turf grilling on the deck, and to breathe in the fresh salt air. The well appointed kitchen has plenty of counter space and comes complete with all cook-ware, lobster pot, microwave, dishwasher, and breakfast bar.

For the creative cook, try pairing some local lobsters or scallops with rib eye steaks from Ray's Meats and some fresh organic vegetables from Dyer Bay Farms, both of which are just up the road. If you need something that is not in season, there is a very well stocked grocery store five miles away that also includes a gourmet section.

To accompany your meal, try some award winning fruit wines or spirits from Bartlett Maine Estates Winery which is just a short drive away in Gouldsboro. When you don't feel like cooking for yourself, enjoy a special night out at Christopher's Restaurant at Eagle Hill, only a half mile away and treat yourself to some French-American fusion cuisine.
