The three bedroom Seaward House is an oceanside slice of heaven located on four very private acres overlooking the rugged crashing surf of Cape Split in South Addison, Maine.

Cape Split is a bold ledge peninsula that juts out into the deep blue Atlantic and is truly one of Maine’s most scenic places. The Seaward House overlooks the open ocean and immerses its guests in this therapeutic environment and beckons to this magical setting where beauty and the rhythmic drum of the sea helps spirits soar and frayed nerves relax and repair.

From this wonderful home, renters will enjoy watching lobster boats cut the waves and take in their catch, as they motor to and from Cape Split Harbor. From the house renters will also enjoy viewing the waves bursting over Ladle Rock and Nash Island.

In the evening when the stars fill the sky, guests can observe from the house’s great room, deck or seaside bench and gather in the warmth from the distant glow of the beacons of Nash Island and Petit Manan lighthouses.

The Seaward House accommodates 6 guests with its three bedrooms and two full baths. The house boasts a cathedral great room with panoramic ocean views, center fireplace, comfortable furniture, dining area, breakfast bar and well equipped kitchen.

The master bedroom located on the first floor features a queen size bed and attached bath. The second floor guest bedrooms offer a queen size bed and two twin beds and share a full bath. There is also a third floor guest bedroom with a double bed.

The house also comes with high speed Internet, satellite TV, charcoal grill, phone, linens, cookware, place settings, utensils, washer, dryer and dishwasher.

The Seaward House is located only ½ mile from the beautiful sandy Cape Split beach that is uncrowded and a terrific place to wade, swim or launch sea kayaks.

This house is also located within a 45 minute radius of some the area’s most spectacular coastal hiking trails such as Petit Manan Wildlife Refuge trails in Milbridge, The Nature Conservancy’s trails on Great Wass Island located across the bridge from Jonesport or the Western Head and Bold Coast trails located in Cutler. Guests also have many choices of ocean boat tours and viewing of Atlantic Puffins on excursions from Milbridge, Jonesport and Cutler harbors.

The Seaward House rents from Saturday to Saturday.

June 1 - July 3: $950
July 3 - July 17: $1,500
July 17 - August 21: $1,800
August 21 - September 5: $950
September 5 - October 31: $800

To reserve this house a 50% reservation deposit is required within 14 days of making your reservation.

Requires a $500 damage deposit due with remainder payment 30 days prior to arrival.

Pets and smoking are not permitted.

The cottage is 1½ hours from Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park and 1¼ hours from Ellsworth and 2 hours from Bangor International Airport.

The cottage is also 1½ hours from Lubec and Campobello Island and 1½ from New Brunswick Canada.

The cottage is also 5 hours from Portland, 6 hours from Boston and 10 hours from New York City.
