The Seaward House overlooks the bay and open ocean that surrounds the Petit Manan Lighthouse and immerses its guests in this therapeutic environment that beckons them to this magical setting where beauty and the rhythmic drum of the sea help spirits soar and frayed nerves relax and repair.

From the house, renters will also enjoy viewing the waves breaking over the ledges at the mouth of the bay. In the evening, when stars fill the sky, guests can observe the distant glow of the beacon from the Petit Manan Lighthouse from the house’s living room, dining room and kitchen. The Seaward House accommodates 4 to 6 guests with its two bedrooms and two full baths. The house boasts a wonderful living room for friends and family to gather around its center fireplace while enjoying ocean views through the large bay window.

Additionally the house boasts a well equipped kitchen with water view breakfast table and warming woodstove. Prepare meals together and/or gather in the morning for coffee beside the woodstove while you watch the boats on the bay.
There are two comfortable bedrooms both located on the second floor, each having queen size beds and sharing a full bath. For those wishing to stay on the first floor, there is a sitting room with a fold-out futon bed and a close by full bath.
![]() ![]() The house also comes with high speed Internet, satellite TV, DVD player, charcoal grill, phone, linens, cookware, place settings, utensils, washer, dryer and dishwasher. The Seaward House is located in one of the most scenic coastal areas on Maine’s shore and boasts some of the best sea kayaking and hiking experiences Downeast. Kayakers can launch from the house’s shorefront and explore the many islands around Pigeon Hill Bay including Bois Bubert Island, the Douglas Islands, Pond Island, Bar Island, Jordan’s Delight and Petit Manan Peninsula. The house is also only 200 feet away from one the most spectacular coastal panoramic view hiking trails along the “Bold Coast” section of Maine. The Pigeon Hill Preserve Hiking Trail is a newly established path that takes hikers up to 300 foot summit, providing visitors one the best 360 degree views anywhere on the coast.
![]() The house is only a mile away from Petit Manan National Wildlife Refuge which protects one of most intact birding areas on the east coast and allows hikers many options for hiking on its coastal trails. The Seaward House is located within a mile from multiple oceanfront hiking trails on Petit Manan Wildlife Refuge as well as within an hour's driving distance from many other coastal hiking trails along the “Bold Coast” section of Maine, including The Nature Conservancy’s trails on Great Wass Island located across the bridge from Jonesport or the Western Head and Boldcoast trails located in Cutler, as well as Acadia National Park’s hiking trails at Schoodic Peninsula. Guests also have many choices of ocean tours and viewing of Atlantic Puffins on excursions from Milbridge, Jonesport and Cutler harbors as well as whale watching and deep sea fishing trips with Captain Butch Harris out of Eastport.
Rental Fees (per week): To reserve this house a 50% reservation deposit is required within 14 days of making your reservation. Requires a $500 damage deposit due with remainder payment 30 days prior to arrival. Dogs are allowed but smoking is not permitted. The house is 1 hour from Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park, 45 minutes from Ellsworth and 1½ hours from Bangor International Airport. The house is also 1½ hours from Lubec and Campobello Island and 2 hours from New Brunswick Canada. The house is also 5 hours from Portland, 6 hours from Boston and 10 hours from New York City.
