The Sea Winds House is a dream luxury vacation home perched overlooking picturesque Jasper Beach and the crashing surf off Howard's Head in Machiasport, Maine. The views are nothing short of spectacular!

Here sunrises greet guests with cascades of radiance making mornings seem timeless, long and warm. Lobster boats are regularly seen off the head in the early to mid morn, harvesting their catch from the rich Atlantic waters.

Guests here are pampered by the spa quality amenities and are treated to the sights and sounds of the ocean surf, as waves roll jasper stones over the beach with the ebb and flow of the tide. No matter clear or stormy, the mystique of the sea is visible from almost every room and guests will marvel as they witness all of the varying weather changes, like giant scenes in a magical play.

This H&G quality home, with storybook roof lines and western red cedar exterior, is furnished in the very finest detail, from its granite countertops, floors of marble, slate, stone and hardwood, to its cherry wainscoting and wooden blinds.

The house features 12 rooms, 3½ baths, and includes 5 bedrooms, 2 ocean view kitchens, 2 living rooms, a vaulted four season sky lighted sun room, solarium, ocean observatory, library, high speed Internet access, 2 person steam shower, sauna, 2 person whirlpool tub, outdoor shower, wrap-around western red cedar deck and radiant heat garage with ping pong and pool tables.

The house also boasts its own private beach nestled into its diverse and rugged shoreline, where children and adults alike enjoy playing in the sand, exploring the many rocky tide pools and casting for Atlantic mackerel off the ledge outcroppings. Couples also delight in taking romantic moonlight strolls to the secluded beach, under the soft warm glow of path lights leading their way.

The house's lavish interior has views of the ocean at every turn. Guests here are pampered in convenience as most every room has surround sound music that can be adjusted at the touch of a keypad. The house showcases a sprawling ocean view master bedroom suite that captivates its vacationers by giving them the sense of hovering over the ocean and beach.

The master bedroom suite comes complete with a look-through center pink granite gas fireplace, positioned between the private library and master bedroom. The suite also includes a 2 person steam shower, inset 2 person whirlpool tub, marble bathroom floor, TV with VCR/DVD player and private balcony. The house also boasts an ocean observatory turret with fabulous water views.

The main floor, located at ground level, features a spacious great room with a well stocked ocean view granite counter kitchen and French bistro breakfast solarium. The great room also features a ten seat dining area and living room with gas fireplace, satellite TV and comfortable leather furniture. Guests enjoy sinking into the living room's plush furnishings while gazing out at the ocean and listening to CD's.

Off the living room area is a cozy vaulted ocean view sun room with seating for four. This warm sky lighted sun room is wonderful for relaxing by yourself, reading or having quiet conversations with friends and family.

From all areas of the great room and sun room guests can step out onto the spacious red cedar deck through French doors to enjoy the sights and sounds of the ocean. The deck is furnished with chaise lounges, benches, chairs and a picnic table. On warm summer afternoons and evenings the whole family will enjoy using the gas grill and picnicking on the deck. The main floor also includes a spacious laundry room with washer, dryer and fold-out ironing board.

Three of the third floor bedrooms, including the master suite, have queen size beds and elevated ocean views. Also, located on the third floor is an additional northern sky lighted guest room with a double bed. All of the third floor guest bedrooms have access to a spacious full bath with an adjustable shower for children of different heights.

The first floor features an ocean view daylight basement with walkout terrace and outdoor shower. The interior boasts a fourth guest room with day bed, a second open kitchen, air hockey table, satellite TV and living room, plus full bath and sauna. The outdoor shower has hot and cold water to rinse, warm up or cool off, following a day at the beach.

This great retreat is situated along one of the most spectacular shorelines in one of the most up and coming vacation destination spots in the country. The Sea Winds House is available for all weeks of the year. It sleeps 10 people. Smoking and pets are not permitted. Weekly rental fees are as follows:

January 1 - May 12: $1,580 / 8 guests, additional $100 per person charge for 9th and 10th guest.
May 12 - June 23: $1,780 / 8 guests, additional $100 per person charge for 9th and 10th guest.
June 23 - August 18: $2,980 / 8 guests, additional $200 per person charge for 9th and 10th guest.
August 18 - September 1: $2,180 / 8 guests, additional $200 per person charge for 9th and 10th guest.
September 1 - October 13: $1,780 / 8 guests, additional $100 per person charge for 9th and 10th guest.
October 13 – December 22: $1,580 / 8 guests, additional $100 per person charge for 9th and 10th guest.
December 22 - December 29: $1,880 / 6 guests, additional $100 per person charge for 7th through 10th guest.

The house is only 20 minutes from downtown Machias and 25 minutes from the beach at Roque Bluffs State Park. The house is also 50 minutes from Campobello Island and the Roosevelt House and 1½ hours from Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor.

Rental Terms: 50% reservation deposit required.
Balance due 30 days prior to arrival.
$500 refundable deposit due along with remainder payment for damage/excessive cleaning costs.

Check-in 4:00 PM Saturday, check-out 10:00 AM the following Saturday.

Arrive by car - Machiasport is 500 miles from Boston, 700 miles from NYC - or arrive by plane - Bangor International Airport is 120 minutes away and Portland Jetport is 4½ hours away.
