The Windslip House, located in Steuben, Maine, is one of Hearts of Maine’s largest and most luxurious oceanfront homes.

This newly built five bedroom, 2½ bath house offers plush furnishings, a 1500 square foot oceanside deck and accommodates 11 guests - a grand house perfect for a large extended family or two families vacationing together.

One of the prominent features is its center fireplace located in its spacious living room. Guests here will enjoy its warmth, soft glow and overall ambience, which comes with having a real wood fireplace.

Another terrific feature of this house is its huge waterside deck, which is great for large gatherings of friends, families and is perfect for reunions. From the deck vacationers can sit and watch ducks paddle in the near bay waters or observe kayakers exploring this unique area. The bay scenery from the shoreline is beautiful and wonderfully diverse. Couples or moms and dads with their children will love the easy walking along the ocean shorefront where vacationers can explore for miles.

The interior of the house is spacious and affords families room choices for different gatherings at the same time. For adults or teens wanting a quiet place to relax, talk or read, the private sitting room is the place to be, while youngsters or others can gather in the living room to watch satellite TV or to play board games.

The large formal dining room seats 10 and offers easy access to a spacious kitchen which includes a vacation must dishwasher. Early risers will enjoy fixing a cup of coffee or breakfast and eating at the kitchen’s water-view table or on the waterside deck.

For seniors, who may prefer to be on the first floor, there is water-view bedroom with double bed and a convenient bath room. On the second floor there are 4 bedrooms, featuring a large master bedroom suite with spacious attached bath, large walk-in closest, satellite TV and DVD player.

The other three guest bedrooms include a water-view guest couple’s room with queen size bed, a mom & dad’s room with queen and twin size beds and youngster’s room with bunk beds. These guest rooms all are convenient to the second full bath. Also located in the large walk-out basement are the washer and dryer, plus a foosball table that is great fun for people of all ages. This house also includes all cook and dinner ware, linens, towels, gas grill, deck furniture, phone, firewood and kindling.

The Windslip House is located in the midst of unique coastal and interior Maine attractions including the Petit Manan Wildlife Refuge, situated only 6 miles away and featuring spectacular oceanside hikes and seabird and shorebird watching opportunities.

Windslip is also located just 12 miles away from Acadia National Park’s Schoodic Peninsula, situated in Winter Harbor with its rugged pink granite ledges, crashing surf, coastal hiking, biking and breathtaking ocean views.

Another close by ocean spot located in the outskirts of Milbridge is McClellan Park, which is just 7 miles away and is a perfect place to watch the sunrise or have a picnic with the family or a special person.

Just to the north of Windslip, vacationers should not overlook the area’s little known Maine Bureau of Public Lands unit which boasts wonderfully scenic and challenging mountain hikes up Catherine’s, Tunk, Black, Caribou and Schoodic Mountains. Nestled between the mountains are some of the most gloriously clear granite based lakes with wonderful sandy beaches to which the public can hike, kayak or canoe.

The house is 1½ hours east of Bangor and the Bangor International Airport. Four and a half hours northeast of Portland, 5½ hours from Boston and 10½ hours from New York City. The house is also 1 hour from Bar Harbor and the main portion of Acadia National Park. The house is 1½ hours from Eastport and l hour and 15 minutes from Lubec and Campobello Island.

The Windslip House rents from Saturday to Saturday.
A 50% reservation deposit is required to reserve the cottage.
Balance due 30 days prior to arrival.

A $400.00 refundable security deposit is required along with remainder payment for damage/excessive cleaning costs.
No extra cleaning fees are required.
Check-in time 3:00 PM and check-out time 10:00 AM the following Saturday.
Smoking is not permitted. No pets allowed.

This house is available for weekly rentals all year around. Limit of 11 person occupancy maximum. Rental Fees (per week):

$775 from April 1 to June 21 for 1-6 guests and $100 per person for each additional guest over six.

$900 per week from June 21 to July 5 for 1-6 guests and $100 per person for each additional guest over six.

$1,500 per week from July 5 to August 23 for 1-6 guests and $100 per person for each additional guest over six.

$825 per week from August 23 to November 1 for 1-6 guests and $100 per person for each additional guest over six.
